I love to make up playlists from my personal iTunes library to go with just about everything. Here's one of my favs for spinning.

1. Every Kinda People - Remix Robert Palmer
2. Sailin’ Shoes Robert Palmer
3 .Stone Flower Santana
4. Mary Had A Little Lamb Stevie Ray Vaughan
5. The Future Leonard Cohen
6. Don't Go Away Mad Little Village
7. Life During Wartime Talking Heads
8. Mississippi Sheryl Crow
9. She Came Along To Me Billy Bragg and Wilco
10. Can We Still Be Friends? - Remix Robert Palmer

I know everybody's got different tastes, but these are all really driving songs that help me get through, plus they are arranged to begin a little slower, build up, then slow down again--which is great for warming up and cooling down on a spin. Got a list to share?

old, aren't they?

The ones I've heard are pretty good, but isn't this playlist a little ... old?

right on steve!

I agree with you, there are great old rockers in that playlist. I especially love Robert Palmer as part of any, and I do mean ANY, kind of workout. Here's a playlist I've been loving for easy spinning:

1. No Ordinary Love-Sade

2. Except The New Girl-Chris Isaak

3. A Volta-Eliane Elias

4. San Francisco Days-Chris Isaak

5. Bad Feeling-Laura Love

6. 12-Step Program (To Quit You Babe)-Nick Lowe

6. Brass In Pocket-The Pretenders

7. Don't Get Me Wrong-The Pretenders

8. Kate-Ben Folds Five

9. Something To Talk About-Bonnie Raitt

10. Back On The Chain Gang-The Pretenders

11. What Is And What Should Never Be-Led Zeppelin

12. September-Eliane Elias

I've been getting stuff from here too

Just found a site that has playlists provided by professional trainers. You can also submit lists or search lists provided by members. Go to www.championo2cool.com and check it out.

No tracks, just lists

Hey blue:

Are you able to download tracks at the champion site or just contribute/get playlists? I tried it out, but only found lists--no tracks. Also, the iTunes link seems to take me over the Apple website, not the iTunes music store. Still, kinda cool.

Newbie LIst.

These are in no particular order, but i usually rearrange them for what workout i'm doing. Ie: Spinning - Slow-Fast-Slow, running- Fast - slow-Fast-slow. But, its music that i love to dance too (or rock out to secretly behind my closed doors) so it keeps me moving no matter how tired i am.

1. Play that funky music white boy - Average white band
2. Walk like an Egytian - Bangles
3. Sabotage - Beasty Boys
4. No Rain - Blind Melon
5. Dammit - Blink 182
6. When the World Ends (Oakenfold) - Dave Matthews Band (used on the Matrix Reloaded ST)
7. Dream Girl - Dave Matthews Band
8. London Bridge - Fergie
9. We got the beat - Go-Go's
10. Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger
11. Remedy - Jason Mraz
12. Sexy Back - Justin Timberlake
13. Crabbuckit - K-Os
14. Black Horse and the Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall
15. Leave you far behind - Lunatic Calm
16. 4 My party people - Missy Elliot
17. Promiscuous - Nelly Furatdo
18. Hot Child in the City - Pat Benataur
19. Dread Rock - Oakenfold
20. Midfields - Prodigy
21. Wake Up - Rage Against the Machine
22. Du Hast - Rammstien
23. Hips don't Lie - Shakira
24. Tainted Love - Soft Cell
25. One Girl Revolution - Superchick
26. Motorcycle Drive by - Third Eye Blind
27. Perfect Gentleman - Wyclef Jean
28. Ain't no other Man - Xtina

(I was born in the 80's but i didn't grow up in them... But really. Look at my music... total 80's child at heart... :P )

Enjoy!

80s child playlist

Nice chart, lots of 80s heart.

One thing about 80s music that I really distinguishes it is the steady beat. Talking Heads, Specials, Kraftwerk, Pretenders, Prince, Devo, and on and on--all had survived disco and were exploring world music and the earliest bleeps of electronica. Blended global, dance, techno, and roots styles have given rise to the joyous hodgepodge that characterizes some great new music today. Oh yeah, that and the nonstop beat :-)

A spinning list i like

I hear the 80s thing, fer sher in that 80s child playlist. Here is one I like. It's about one hour. It even gets into the 70s (Robert Palmer moves me) and (yikes!) some jazz. Outstanding for spinning, although some tracks might be hard to find.

1. Every Kinda People – Remix -- Robert Palmer
2. Sailin’ Shoes -- Robert Palmer
3. Stone Flower – Santana
4. Mary Had A Little Lamb -- Stevie Ray Vaughan
5. The Future -- Leonard Cohen
6. Speak Low -- Gary Bartz
7. Don't Go Away Mad -- Little Village
8. Life During Wartime -- Talking Heads
9. Mississippi -- Sheryl Crow
10. She Came Along To Me -- Billy Bragg and Wilco
11. Can We Still Be Friends? - Remix -- Robert Palmer

I saved this whole page and started looking for most of these songs something i hate is hearing the same music over and over in the gym especially on cardio machines it just makes the work out get old and boring. The only thing better than working out to this music is going to a concert i got lucked and scored some radiohead tickets and will be seeing them soon can't wait. Great songs on everyones list,, thanks
